Examples of Commission Process

Thank you for enjoying my art, and your interest in a special collage or painting commission. Below is more information about how I go about creating a unique original piece just for you:

My commission process starts with a few simple sketches of what your needs are. You choose your favorite sketch, and I make a couple adjustments if needed.

You pick the color palette from my website from previous collages or paintings I have done. Or if you have a more specific subject in mind I use reference photos or images you provide. I add the color to the sketch if necessary to give you a greater idea of how the final piece will turn out.

I start the artwork and send update pics along the way, this helps you feel more involved in the process. Each piece is its own journey, it’s fun to come along for the ride.

When finished, I add a special dedication you want on the back and/or my own dedication. I also like adding a little art gift in the box when shipped.

Most commissions take between 4–12 weeks to complete.

I ask for half payment up front and the rest due when the completed piece is ready to ship. Shipping cost varies based on size, weight, and destination.

Framing would be done on your end (if needed) to match any decor or other frames in your home. Frame costs in my home state of Hawaii are very high, adds to shipping costs, and could get damaged en route. I find it the safest and most economical way to go.
